  • University of Alabama (205 Gorgas Library) 711 Capstone Dr. Tuscaloosa, AL 35487 USA

This symposium investigates various attempts to control and influence behavior in Geneva and in the Reformed world during the second half of the Sixteenth Century. Papers will examine the functioning of consistories and the use of moral treatises, sermons, poetry, emblems, and personal interaction to establish the theological and ethical grounds for social control.
